The Senior Business Intelligence Specialist is responsible for transforming business data into actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making across the organization. This role bridges the gap between business stakeholders and technology teams by understanding business requirements and translating them into scalable Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse, Analytics, and Automation solutions. The position plays a critical role in enabling data-driven decision making, improving operational efficiency, ensuring data quality and governance, and driving digital transformation initiatives through modern analytics and cloud technologies. Without this role, the organization would face challenges in obtaining reliable insights, maintaining reporting platforms, automating business processes, and leveraging advanced analytics and machine learning capabilities.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain BI dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions using Qlik Sense, QlikView, Microsoft Power BI, and related technologies.
- Monitor solution performance and recommend improvements.
- Stay current with emerging BI, analytics, AI, machine learning, and Microsoft/Azure technologies to continuously enhance organizational capabilities.
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives, challenges, and reporting needs and translate business requirements into technical specifications and analytical solutions.
- Facilitate workshops and requirement-gathering sessions and convert business ideas into effective BI and analytics solutions.
- Ensure availability, accuracy, performance, and timely refresh of existing BI reports (mostly in Qlik) and analytics solutions.
- Update master data and business inputs.
- Manage incident resolution, problem management, troubleshooting, and user support activities.
- Ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance with organizational data governance standards.
- Manage user access, perform security reviews, and support audit and compliance requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise data warehouse solutions.
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes, data models, and data integration pipelines using Azure data services and other relevant technologies.
- Develop and support cloud-based analytics solutions using Microsoft Azure whenever necessary.
You bring these skills, experience & education
- Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field
- Minimum 4–5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Warehousing, or related disciplines.
- Proven experience in delivering BI solutions for business functions such as Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, or Commercial organizations.
- Experience working directly with business stakeholders and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong hands-on experience with Qlik Sense and/or QlikView
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI
- Experience with Azure Data Services (Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake, Fabric, or similar).
- Experience in Data Warehouse architecture, data modeling, ETL/ELT development, and data integration.
- Exposure to Machine Learning and Advanced Analytics solutions using Azure services.
- Good understanding of SQL, data governance, and data quality management.
- Experience working in an operational (run & support) as well as project-based environment.
- English fluency.
