Preferred : 8 to 10 years of experiance in Packaging machine , with experience in motion based programming, Experience from Horizontal form fill machines , Vertical form filling machine preferred
System Design:
- Analyze process requirements and develop control logic for PLC systems.
- Design and configure PLC hardware, including I/O modules and communication networks.
- Select and integrate HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces) for operator interaction.
- PLC Programming:
- Write PLC programs using ladder logic, structured text, or other PLC programming languages.
- Develop complex control sequences to manage machine operations.
- Implement safety interlocks and error handling routines.
- Testing and Validation:
- Thoroughly test PLC programs to ensure functionality and accuracy.
- Validate system performance against design specifications.
- Conduct system simulations to identify potential issues.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
- Diagnose and resolve PLC system malfunctions
- Implement corrective actions to minimize downtime
- Perform regular system backups and updates
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate PLC systems with other equipment
- Collaborate with production teams to optimize process control strategies
- Provide technical support to maintenance technicians
Required skills for a PLC engineer:
- Technical Knowledge:
- Expertise in PLC programming languages (ladder logic, structured text, etc.)
- Understanding of electrical circuits, control systems, and industrial automation concepts
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley & Siemens PLC, HMI, SERVO brands and their programming environments.
- Problem-solving Skills:
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and identify root causes
- Logical reasoning and analytical skills to debug PLC code
- Communication Skills:
- Effective communication with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, maintenance)
- Ability to document system design, programming logic, and maintenance procedures
- Other Skills:
- Understanding of safety standards relevant to industrial automation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
