Maintenance Coordinator

 

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

The Maintenance Coordinator provides direction to the Maintenance department with specific focus on preventative and timely corrective maintenance of processes, facility, and auxiliary equipment by scheduling the activities. The Maintenance Manager fulfills the duties of this role in case of a vacancy.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support corporate objectives by directing safe and efficient preventive and corrective equipment PM in a timely manner.
  • Establish and maintain a strong manufacturing customer focus throughout the department and in support of plant-wide operations.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with Operations customers and suppliers.
  • Within the Maintenance department and all Operations departments, develop and maintain an atmosphere of trust and business awareness.  Insist upon fairness and equality in the application of corporate policies and treat all individuals with dignity and respect.
  • Develop PM and PM SOPs, plan schedule and assign activities of skilled and competent workforce focusing on team building and group problem-solving.
  • Maintain high standards for safety and housekeeping which result in an atmosphere which is safe and clean for all employees.  Train and update programs with guidance from Maintenance Manager.
  • Provide repairs and preventative support to operations departments in a timely and efficient manner, with careful consideration of life-cycle costs and bottlenecks, in support of minimizing conversion costs and maximizing process equipment uptime.
  • Key holder of operating indicators (metrics) which measure departmental performance on a regular basis and communicate this information to upper management, critical customers, and employees.
  • Implement ongoing productivity improvement programs.
  • Actively participate in capital planning, implementation, and new process development.
  • Support the introduction of new technology.
  • Execution of work orders and parts management utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Provide consistent and timely support to “sister facilities” to maximize the global benefit to corporate objectives.
  • Develop strong, positive communication links with Manufacturing, Auto fill, Sales, Finance, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Safety, Human Resources, Planning and all other departments.
  •  Ensure that all work is performed to an appropriate quality level, that it complies with Company policies, and is applicable to legal requirements.
  • This role directly coordinates employees in the Maintenance department by carrying out, assigning, and supervising PM responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • EDUCATION:
    • Associate’s degree or Certification in Industrial Maintenance or related field from an accredited technical school, college or university preferred.
  • SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
    • 5 to 10 years’ experience with either CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) or Industrial Maintenance or a combination of both.
    • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
    • Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
    • Frequently standing, walking and sitting.
    • Frequently required the use of hands to finger, feel, reach or handle machinery.
    • Frequently bend, stoop and reach.
    • Visual Acuity (VA).
