Sr. People & Culture Generalist

 

Location: Northlake, IL    Work Model: Hybrid     Compensation: 80-90K plus 10%  Actual compensation may vary depending on factors such as location, experience, skills, qualifications and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may participate in company-sponsored benefits, incentive programs, and other forms of compensation.

We’re looking for a People & Culture Business Partner who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is eager to make an impact through strategic initiatives and hands-on partnership.

As a key strategic partner, you will support both management and employees across a wide range of People & Culture (P&C) functions—including employee relations, performance management, recognition, engagement, compliance, and continuous process improvement. This is a high-visibility role where you’ll directly influence workplace culture and help shape the employee experience.

 

Key responsibilities
 
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations matters—providing guidance that aligns with company values and employment law.
  • Coach and advise managers on performance management, employee development, conflict resolution, and disciplinary matters.
  • Lead or support investigations of employee complaints or workplace concerns, documenting findings and recommending fair resolutions.
  • Partner with leaders to drive workforce planning, engagement, recognition, and retention strategies. 
  • Support and improve the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and career development initiatives.
  • Analyze HR metrics and trends to provide insights and recommendations that inform business decisions.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of HR programs, policies, and process improvements that foster an inclusive, high-performance culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate on strategic projects that support organizational growth, change management, and talent development.

 

You bring these skills, experience & education
 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 5–7 years of progressive HR experience with expertise across multiple HR disciplines.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of employment laws, HR best practices, and HRIS systems. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Confidentiality: Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
