SENIOR FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

Salary: $85K-$95K

 

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

This position is to plan, coordinate, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure the effective operation of SIG Combibloc line equipment. The incumbent will possess excellent customer relations skills and must be qualified to do mechanical adjustments and troubleshoot and repair control systems. Promote improvement of line performance and efficiency as part of continuous improvement methodology.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implement and manage hands-on daily activities of maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Provide superior reports to the back office.
  • Mainly located on or assigned to a customer but travel to other locations as required by the manager.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute planned preventive major maintenance activities to a high standard and in line with agreed procedures, ensuring effective operation of equipment.
  • Provide production support post-maintenance to bring the line to pre-maintenance efficiencies or highest while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  •  Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve both mechanical and automation malfunctions and breakdowns.
  • Conduct systematic root cause analysis of problems to ensure permanent resolution and/or escalate with a proper problem description and documentation when the root cause is not identified.
  • Handle claims and provide technical support and guidance to escalated claims per the claims process and through the quality department, including root cause analysis.
  • Install rebuilding kits according to procedures and reinstate equipment into production environment with a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze, identify, and take action on system performance issues, implementing correct and approved operational improvements.

YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

EDUCATION:

  • Associate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering OR a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (preferred).

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 6-8 years of experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and service within a manufacturing or field service environment.
  • Hands-on experience with servo programming, Allen-Bradley PLC programming, electrical systems, mechanical systems, and pneumatic machinery.
  • Strong ability to analyze system performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Customer site and packaging line knowledge, Carton and packaging technology, Aseptic a plus.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Must be able to travel 100%
