Senior Accountant
SUMMARY OF ROLE
COMPENSATION: $85,000 - $100,000
Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors, including relevant experience, qualifications, education, skills, internal equity, and overall business considerations.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for managing complex financial operations, including inventory and project accounting, intercompany invoicing, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to coordinate across departments and systems.#LI-Hybrid
This role is hybrid in Northlake, IL.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Manage intercompany invoicing related to worker's comp, STD claims, insurance, and pension service costs.
- Reconcile deferred income and deposits across multiple GL accounts and divisions.
- Perform foreign payee reporting and legal/confidential adjustments.
- Reconcile and process deposits, billing, and customer payments related to equipment and special projects.
- Perform monthly and quarterly inventory reconciliations, cost rolls, and LCM/reserve adjustments.
- Review and accrue inventory-related adjustments (price errors, uninvoiced shipments).
- Support physical inventory counts, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Generate project cost summaries for management and assist with final cost roll processes.
- Collect project work hours, calculate and record EQP labor absorption journal entries.
- Track R&D project time allocations; calculate and submit R&D costs for invoicing.
- Accrue expenses for professional services, recruiting, IT, communication, and other recurring/non-recurring categories.
- Prepare and review quarterly true-ups for accrued benefits, insurance, and welfare costs.
- Provide monthly and quarterly financial summaries (e.g., EQP Revenue, Trade Filler Placement) for COGNOS.
- Ensure proper opening and closing of LN INT modules and validate integrations.
YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; an Associate’s degree may be considered with a strong demonstrated accounting background and relevant experience.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or high-volume transactional environment. Prior experience supporting month-end close activities is required.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with Infor LN, SAP, and COGNOS a plus.
- Strong desire to improve processes, challenge outdated practices, and help modernize the accounting function.
- Advanced ability to analyze financial data, identify inconsistencies, investigate root causes, and develop corrective actions
- Ability to support internal business partners with accuracy, responsiveness, and professionalism
