Key Account Manager
SUMMARY OF ROLE
COMPENSATION: $120k-$135k
This position is critical to drive the sustainable growth of SIG’s existing customer base in terms of sales volume and value in the USA (potentially segmented either by geographic/channel/or other criteria) by building strong and robust relationships to key stakeholders, identifying and realizing growth potential and managing the day-to-day sales operations in collaboration with other SIG functions (SCM, Technical Service, Finance, Marketing). The Key Account Manager is responsible for the P&L of his/her assigned accounts and for achieving budgeted volume and value KPIs.
Additionally, this role also is charged with growing and retaining new accounts by presenting SIG portfolio of products and solutions to potential clients. The Key Account Manager will work with mid- and senior level management, sales, marketing, and technical staff. He/she may manage the activities of others responsible for developing business for the company. It is the Key Account Manager’s responsibility to develop the pipeline of new business for SIG Combibloc and provide constant input into strategic planning. This requires a thorough knowledge of the market, SIG Combibloc’s product portfolio, and SIG Combibloc’s competitors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Function as the dedicated commercial contact and build long-term relationships with assigned key customers and develop a deep understanding of their needs and long-term business strategies
- Manage day-to-day sales operations in close collaboration with customer stakeholders and SIG internal departments such as supply chain, marketing, technical service, finance and SIG management to ensure a seamless customer experience
- Develop plans and execute activities to ensure packaging material sales at existing customers to ensure that quarterly and annual sales targets are being met (volume, revenue, gross profit)
- Identify new sales leads by utilizing and leveraging SIG's existing potential client base and network
- Proactively identify and realize opportunities at the customer to increase SIG's revenue generation by providing SIG's packaging, equipment and solution portfolio
- Develop a strategic business development approach and pitch addressing the client's needs and SIG Combibloc's strategic business development targets

- Close sales objectives including negotiation, contract development and project management
- Present to and consult with mid- and senior level management on business trends, key opportunities and risks with a with a view to developing new business
YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Development, Sales, Marketing, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in professional sales and/or business development
- Preferably experienced in the food & beverage, packaging, or related industries
- Proficient in key business software, including:
- SAP
- Salesforce
- BW
