Generalist Production and Materials Planner
Summary: Plans and prepares production schedules and order materials for manufacture of industrial or commercial products by performing the following duties. The Lead Production and Materials Planner fulfills the duties of this role in case of a vacancy.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Responsible for creating the production schedule while considering finished goods inventory, WIP, forecasted demand, customer orders, inner-company demand, replenishment orders, plant capacity, cycling plans, manufacturing efficiencies and various other dependencies.
- Responsible for ordering materials for production or FG to sell to customers based on MRP and considering the lead time from suppliers or other SIG plants.
- Review safety and Maximum stock to have enough material to avoid airfreight and meeting financial inventory targets.
- Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
- Identifies conditions that could impact the production and/or proactively develops and communicates contingency plans and priorities.
- Confers with Operation Managers and Supervisors to resolve production issues, which affect the machines schedules.
- Works with multiple departments to coordinate proper inventory mix, new business launches, trials, lost business phase outs, phase out/phase in transitions, promotional requirements and prioritizations to support company goals and objectives while servicing customer requirements.
- Participates in Process Improvement projects when necessary.
- Ability to work in a team environment, to teach and coach others in the awareness of planning techniques, software, and best practices.
You bring these skills, experience & education
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or minimum tree years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience using MRP
- Experience with Demand Segmentation
- APICS certification a plus
- High level of knowledge in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to learn and adapt to ERP systems
