Communications Expert

 

 

 

SUMMARY OF ROLE

 

COMPENSATION: $85,000-$95,000

The communications expert will collaborate with cross-functional teams in the US and Canada to support the development of high impact, innovative, and compelling communications plans and execute a broad array of tactics and initiatives to strengthen awareness of SIG’s brand value proposition and enable the company’s sustainable growth in the North America region.  This role will also support efforts to ensure company goals are clearly and consistently communicated to employees and other stakeholders. 

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communications Plan: Support development and implementation of communications plan and editorial calendar to advance organizational initiatives, goals, and priorities in line with the company's global strategy and adapt as needed to meet regional (U.S. and Canada) needs. Ensure communication messages are consistent across all mediums/channels/audiences. Support strategies that prioritize, protect, and promote the SIG brand. Manage digital, social media, and marketing communications execution. 
  • Communication Materials: Identify opportunities and develop various print and digital materials to support marketing events, internal messages, and company initiatives; adapt global materials for local use when applicable; coordinate with design resources to meet company branding guidelines and encourage clear and consistent messaging. Develop creative graphics/content for PowerPoint presentations, social media posts, and other written/graphic communications. Review and update digital ecosystem in AM-N including working with global to update website content as needed and overall online external communication. 
  • Communications Content: Write and edit a wide variety of communications with creativity and accuracy. Communicate initiatives effectively, working with people & culture team to keep employees updated on important news, events, and deadlines. Share approved communications using various channels (email, App, monitors, intranet, social media, etc.).  
  • Events: Plan, organize, and support industry tradeshows, company events, employee engagement activities, (i.e., volunteer service projects, milestone celebrations, recognition activities) and other events with relevant business partners. Maintain a calendar of events and manage the event planning process, including execution, follow up, and all necessary support such as schedule and logistics, key messaging, booth design, post-event data and reporting. Must be willing/able to travel several times a year.  
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with departments to generate new ideas and strategies for effective communications, events, and marketing opportunities. Build relationships with leaders and peers across the regional and global teams. 
  • Reporting: Support identification and tracking of key performance metrics, create reports on strategy and effectiveness, monitor and improve actions as needed. Collect and respond to feedback and adjust communications approaches, messages, target audiences, etc. as needed based on feedback and performance. 
  • Administration: Manage communication budget and relationships with external agencies and related vendors. Ensure timely payment of invoices and follow all internal accounting processes. Support communications and marketing efforts as needed including event support, employee engagement, managing sample/mock-up/promotional item requests and presentations for customer meetings, coordinating production with key vendors, and ensuring timely shipment. Maintain and update internal brand resource library with latest tools and content. Coordinate vendor/agency suppliers and follow-up on invoice payments.    

 

YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (MBA is a plus)
  • Professional experience (5-7 years) in internal communications and employee engagement, external and corporate communications, B2B and marketing communications, or an adjacent area. 
  • Experience in the CPG, FMCG, or food and beverage industry, preferable.
