• File and prosecute patent applications and design applications worldwide, including opposition, appeals, reexamination, invalidation and third-party observations, inhouse or using external outside counsels;
• Conduct patent related searches, such as prior art and technology landscape searches;
• Harvest of inventions, communicating with Tech Center & internal inventors;
• Mitigate IPR risks in business units and daily operation of the company by assessing the IPR situation, preparing and issuing professional patent related opinion, such as FTO opinions;
• Take care, at least partially, of the German inventors' remuneration;
• Monitor competitors’ IP activities;
• Communicate and collaborate with external outside counsels all around the world on IP matters;
• Improve internal IP awareness, by, e.g., trainings;
• Support the work of the other members of the IP team and of the Head of IP.

• German patent law is a plus.
• Technical background as a polymer chemist, chemical or process engineer, material science engineer, or equivalent knowledge is required.
• Knowledge of film, laminates, and production processes in the food industry and/or the packagining industry is a plus. 
• The qualification as German and/or European patent attorney is necessary.
• Fluency in English is a must, as well as a fair knowledge of German. 
• Flexibility and team work spirit.
• Experience with internal patent databases and commercial IP Tools.
