Intern Energy consumption in print technologies (m/d/w)
With the introduction of digital printing as an alternative printing technology to gravure printing, a comparison of the two technologies and the associated end-to-end processes in terms of energy consumption and CO2 footprint is to be developed. On the one hand, this serves to improve the cost assessment of the two printing processes in terms of energy consumption and can also be used for marketing purposes in order to differentiate the two technologies for the customer with regard to such issues.
The aim of this work is the understand and analyse energy consumptions/CO2 footprint and compare both in a suitable reference system (e.g. per order, per square meter, etc.).
- Develop an understanding of gravure and digital printing processes
- Develop an understanding of the energy consumption mechanisms within the respective main and secondary processes
- Define a suitable observation period
- Development of a suitable reference system
- Detailed analysis of energy consumption
- Comparison of the outcome
