Digitalization & Application Engineer (m/f/d)

For our E2E Smart Factory Solutions team in Linnich near Cologne, Düsseldorf and Aachen, we are looking for an Digitalization & Application Engineer (m/f/d).

You will work in an agile group in our office in Linnich. This group provides “smart factory” solutions for brown field and also new filling line applications.  

 

Key responsibilities
 
  • Solutions for the connection of equipment to an automation environment
  • Planning and management of MES and LMS projects
  • Remote and onsite commissioning/troubleshooting for Hardware and Software issues
  • Supporting service platforms for predictive maintenance solutions
  • Support software development teams in the rollout and support of the systems in the field
  • Definition, organization, and driving of daily work topics
  • Life cycle support and system improvement of digital products
  • Support innovation projects in digitalization and automation (industrie 4.0, IoT etc.)
  • Treat change requirements of digital products (HW & SW)

 

You bring these skills, experience & education
 
  • Experience providing support and maintenance for IT server and network infrastructure
  • 3-5 years of vocational experience
  • Confident handling of Windows and Linux
  • Robust knowledge of current network infrastructure and configuration (e.g. routers, managed switches)
  • Experience in the integration of machine equipment in different digital environments (e.g. MES, ERP)
  • Confident manner combined with an excellent ability to observe/understand customer needs
  • Target-oriented working practices as part of a global team
  • Strong communication skills and capacity for teamwork
  • Willingness to produce and update good documentation for the team

  • Experience with or interest in automation of manual tasks using tools such as Ansible

  • Helping to advance the work area to use modern tools and processes including motivating team members to improve together

  • Excellent knowledge of German and English
  • Willingness to travel up to 30%
