- Coordinate and provide functional guidance to local EHS team, ensuring alignment with global EHS policies and standards.
- Act as the primary interface to the Global/Regional EHS function, ensuring effective two-way communication and deployment of global initiatives and standards.
- Implement and maintain Health & Safety management, including hazard identification, risk assessments, training events, information sessions, and instruction courses and preventive measures tailored needs for the plant and if relevant for service activities.
- Consolidate and review plant EHS reporting for both, for plant and if relevant service activities, including incidents, near misses, KPIs, internal and external audits/assessments, compliance status, behavioral based observation program and projects.
- Ensure consistent incident reporting and incident management in the plant and if relevant for service operations, including investigation quality, root cause analysis, and follow-up of corrective actions.
- Coordinate regulatory compliance activities, ensuring permits, inspections, and legal requirements are met for plant and if relevant for service organization.
- Roll out and monitor global EHS programs, campaigns, and standards, facilitate best practice sharing and capability building among the plant departments and if relevant with service teams.
- Identify local EHS risks, trends, and systemic issues (including service-related risks such as customer-site work, travel, and contractor management, if relevant) and proactively escalate them.
- Support local emergency preparedness, crisis management, and safety drills, including coordination of response for serious incidents involving plants or field engineers.
- Supporting EHS projects (local new machinery / local machinery modification) regarding EHS, to cover legal and corporate requirements during the design/engineering/construction phase including the pre-startup-safety-review (PSSR)
- Provision of expert consulting services to management on plant related topics such as safety, ISO14001/45001 activities, Fire Protection, SEDEX, GHG emission, Pollution-, Waste-, Water -and Biodiversity-Management
- University degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Master craftsman or a related discipline.
- Legal local required safety specialist exam.
- Formal qualification in occupational health and safety (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, Lead Auditor OHS or Environment or equivalent) is a strong advantage.
