Technician Maintenance, Mechanical

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Able to undertake the machining of simple and complex parts.
• Able to design and draw components.
• Carry out autonomous mechanical and pneumatic maintenance and installations within the organisation.
• Carry out our preventative maintenance programs with the view of reducing downtime.
• Design parts for new and existing equipment upgrades and implement them into the plant with reviews of the effectiveness and outcomes. 
• Participate in continuous improvement throughout the plant with the view of improving productivity, efficiency, and safety.
• Work to current Australian Standards and Codes of Practice keeping a focus on quality work practices.
• Provide support to skill up other mechanical apprentices and tradespersons in the organisation.
• Provide support writing and reviewing documentation i.e. work instructions and one-point lessons. 
• At all times consider the health, safety and welfare of all personnel and visitors to the plant.
• Liaise with external resources to acquire knowledge as required. 

YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• Mechanical Trades Certificate
• Must be able to read, fabricate, and assemble from an Engineering drawing with close tolerance components
• Sound knowledge of the relevant Codes of Practice and Australian Standards
• Experience with high volumes of production equipment
• Competent in the use of lathes, mills, grinders, drills, and welding equipment as well as all workshop tools
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the packaging and plastics industries will be beneficial
