Business Development Manager
-Global Equipment & Spouted Pouches -
This role focuses on expanding SIG’s pouch filling and forming equipment portfolio globally, with a strategic emphasis on spouted pouch solutions. As the Business Development Manager, you will play a critical role in developing sales strategies, driving new market entries, and cultivating key partnerships to increase adoption of SIG’s advanced filling and forming solutions across varied regions. This position is integral to the growth and market leadership of SIG in flexible packaging solutions for liquid products.
Sales Strategy & Market Development for Pouch Equipment
- Formulate and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to drive SIG’s pouch filling and forming equipment globally, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
- Identify high-potential regions and customer segments for pouch equipment. Leverage both direct sales and third-party agents to penetrate new markets.
- Work closely with marketing and product development teams to differentiate SIG’s pouch solutions by tailoring equipment features to address market-specific needs and competitive landscapes.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement for Pouch Solutions
- Establish and strengthen relationships with leading clients, particularly those seeking innovative and efficient spouted pouch filling solutions. Serve as the main point of contact for significant stakeholders in regional and global markets.
- Gather insights from pouch equipment clients to inform product improvements and address emerging needs in filling, forming, and flexible packaging capabilities.
- Act as SIG’s representative in industry forums, trade shows, and client meetings related to pouch filling and forming technology, enhancing SIG’s visibility and reputation.
Global Sales Team Support & Cross-regional Collaboration
- Mentor and support country sales managers, ensuring they are knowledgeable and proficient in the technical aspects of pouch equipment. Foster a collaborative environment for sharing successful sales strategies and technical expertise.
- Enable knowledge transfer on SIG’s pouch solutions across regions, focusing on best practices and market insights to ensure uniformity in SIG’s brand reputation and technical standards.
Performance Analysis, Compliance & Technical Leadership
- Implement systems for rigorous performance monitoring of pouch equipment sales, including budgeting and sales data analysis. Leverage Salesforce CRM to produce regular insights and reports for executive review.
- Uphold SIG’s policies, ensuring global sales activities for pouch equipment comply with all relevant industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (Engineering degree advantageous).
- 5+ years in international sales within the packaging or equipment sector, especially in pouch filling and forming technology or flexible packaging.
- Strong ability to influence and collaborate across teams, drive projects and take full ownership.
- Proven skills in effective communication and client engagement are essential.
- Ability to generate lead - skilled in managing cross-cultural relationships.
- Deep understanding of pouch equipment technology, market dynamics, and competitive positioning.
- Advanced capabilities in MS Office and CRM (Salesforce desirable) , with foundational SAP skills.
- Proficiency in English; additional languages are beneficial.
