Key responsibilities
 
  • Install, commission, calibrate and parameterize industrial machinery and filling line equipment at customer sites, according to technical specifications.
  • Perform FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) and ensure all activities are properly documented.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and automation-related equipment issues.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance according to company procedures and identify root causes of recurring failures.
  • Provide advanced technical support both on-site and remotely, including troubleshooting through digital and secure connectivity tools.
  • Act as the technical lead during complex service interventions and, where required, coordinate field technicians or subcontractors on international projects.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Service Managers, Back Office, Engineering and Quality teams to ensure effective and timely resolution of customer issues.
  • Conduct technical audits at customer sites, assess machine condition and identify potential risks or opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide expert technical advice and training to customers on equipment operation, maintenance and safety.
  • Prepare accurate technical reports, checklists and service documentation, including diagnostics, actions taken and recommendations.
  • Share field experience and technical feedback with Engineering and other internal teams to support continuous improvement, product development and innovation.
  • Follow SIG's environmental guidelines and contribute to corrective and improvement actions in line with ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Be prepared for frequent international travel and work independently and responsibly in demanding industrial environments.
 
You bring these skills, experience & education
 
 
  • Secondary education or equivalent; an associate degree or 2–4 years of technical vocational training is preferred.
  • Relevant technical qualification and/or strong practical experience in industrial machinery, automation, electrical, mechanical or related technical fields.
  • Up to 8 years of relevant professional experience in technical service, field service, commissioning, maintenance or a comparable industrial environment.
  • Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and automation systems.
  • Experience with the installation, commissioning, maintenance and technical support of industrial equipment.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership and make sound technical decisions within established procedures.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills, with attention to detail when preparing technical reports and service records.
  • Ability to coordinate and support other technicians or subcontractors during complex service interventions.
  • Customer-oriented approach with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally on a frequent basis.
  • Professional working proficiency in English.
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to identify and propose process, equipment and service improvements.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with customers and cross-functional teams such as Engineering, Quality, Project Management and Service.
